Sydney Royal Judging Competitions

The Sydney Royal Judging Competitions aim to educate and encourage future Judges within their respective industries.   Competitors are judged on how well they judge the exhibits, whereas most other Competitions at the Show judge the actual exhibit.

This is a very educational based competition where young people have the opportunity to have their judging skills observed and judged, all while competing against their peers.

The Competitions attract around 300 entries, and those eligible to compete at the Royal Easter Show must have already won their local and Zone Qualifying competitions.   There are currently 20 different Judging Competitions at the Show, 13 of which are State Finals and 1 that is a National Final. National Finals for another 6 Competitions are held on a rotational basis with other States.

A major part of judging these competitions is the feedback that the Judges are required to give in summary to the young competitors.  They not only need to be experienced and qualified Judges in their own right, but also need to clearly and  concisely verbalise their reasoning for why they have selected one exhibit over another.

Congratulations to everyone who won and participated at the 2012 Sydney Royal  Judging Competitions.

Sydney Royal Easter Show dates for the 2013 Show - 21 March 2013 - 3 April 2013.
