Sydney Royal Alpaca & Fleece Competitions

Held during the Sydney Royal Easter Show, the internationally recognised Alpaca Competition is regarded as one of the most prestigious in Australia, attracting over 400 exhibits in the Suri & Huacaya sections, and 180 fleeces in the Fleece section.

Alpacas were first introduced to the Easter Show in 1869 and have been a continuous feature since 1992.   Over the intervening years, the Alpaca industry has become an important part of agriculture in Australia, with close to 2,500 Alpaca growers.

Australian Alpaca wool is exported worldwide and prized international for its high quality.   In the last few years, the Sydney Royal Alpaca & Alpaca Fleece Competitions have expanded to include Fashion Parades, display of Alpaca Fleeces, Infotainment, the Sydney Royal Alpaca Judging Competition, and the Alpaca Junior Handler Classes.

Congratulations to everyone who won and participated at the 2012 Sydney Royal Alpaca Show.
